Student Rush at The Smith Center of the Performing Arts

Student Rush is a theatre tradition that began in 1996 with Rent. Theatres reserve seats specifically for students and sell them at a cheaper price. At the Smith Center, seats run from $29 to $127* for the Broadway: Las Vegas series. However, with Student Rush, tickets are only $25!

Getting Involved in the Community

You’re a Las Vegas student and are tired of living where nothing is for teenagers and/or you want to become involved in theatre but aren’t sure how. Lucky for you, you stumbled into the right place! I’m here to provide ideas on what to do and where to begin.

Start where it’s obvious—look at school. Most, if not all, CCSD schools have theatre arts programs. Your school may offer a wide range of theatre classes in addition to an after-school program where they put on plays, musicals, and other events. All the colleges and universities in the valley offer theatre classes as well. The best part about joining school programs is they are free or inexpensive. Studio classes and private lessons can be very expensive, but school-based theatre programs allow you to gain similar skills for a much lower price.
